The Diocese of Missouri met for its 180th Convention. For only the eleventh time in these 180 years of our Diocese’s existence, the Convention elected a bishop, the Rev. Deon K. Johnson, rector of St. Paul’s church in Brighton, Michigan.
For the first time in the history of the church, the elected bishop was an openly gay black man.
